Coronavirus

March 6, 2020

I haven’t heard from where the coronavirus originated.  In my view of a “normal world”, this would be a major topic of discussion.

If it evolved naturally, say, in animals, and then was spread to humans, that would be interesting for scientists to know to give them a clue how to deal with this outbreak, compare it to others in the past, and to be more prepared to deal with future outbreaks.

If it was manmade, that opens up a whole different line of thought.  The scenario that concerns me the most is the one where the U.S. government intentionally released the virus so as to infect humans.

If that is what happened, then those involved are guilty of numerous crimes.  Most important of all, of course, is that they committed pre-meditated murder of thousands of people.  They’ve sickened thousands more.  They’ve caused the loss of billions of dollars to people around the world.  They’ve taken weeks away from the lives of those people who were quarantined.

If this was done intentionally against China, Iran, or any other country, then this would be an act of war. In a just society, those responsible would be held to account.  If the act was against foreign states, then this act of aggression could be considered treason against the U.S. as it expectedly could lead us into war.
